Donations

Thank you for taking the time to check out our blog. We are getting more and more excited for this trip with each passing day!

We have been so overwhelmed with support from our friends and family! So many of you have supported us financially, through prayers, by writing letters to the kids at the orphanage, or just by asking us about the trip and listening to our heart behind it. We are SO grateful and are excited to be able to share about this special place with you.

Many of you have been asking about donations to take to the orphanage. We will have a total of EIGHT bags between the four of us traveling, so there is plenty of room for us to take donations along! If you are interested in donating items, here are some good ideas of things the orphanage always needs - or wants… you know how kids are ;)

Different Timing

It has been a stressful couple of weeks but we have officially bought plane tickets. To cut to the chase, we have moved our trip dates to July 23rd through August 8th.

While we had been planning on leaving before the end of June, we discovered that the available flights into Liberia would have prevented us form getting into the country before late Tuesday afternoon. Furthermore, the plane ticket prices were steeper than anticipated. We had been trying to be traveling fourth of July weekend because it fit best with my work schedule but when we realized the issues with the flights we had to take a step back and regroup. We knew that if God wanted this trip to happen, we couldn't force it our way.

Still, after putting so much into planning, specifically all the work my mother-in-law had put into arranging flights with the humanitarian travel agent, it was debilitating to have to reconsider what we were doing. We began to look into dates in late July. A later date would allow us (and our friends in Liberia) more time to prepare and the flights were several hundred dollars cheaper per ticket.

However, we still had the issue of the available flights into the country. Our original plan was to leave on a Saturday. However, the only available flights left on a Thursday and Monday. While it means taking more time off, Thursday means four additional days in Liberia so we have elected to extend our trip. We are pretty excited about this opportunity and the extended time we will have in the country to spend with people.

Please stay tuned for more updates. We really appreciate all the people who have already sent their support. And don't forget to send us your email so we can make sure you stay updated.

God bless,
Anthony

We Are Going To Liberia This Summer

After much prayer and deliberation, it seems that God has opened the door for us to go to Liberia. Bekah, her parents, and myself will all be making the trip to the west African nation this summer. If you would like to know more, please read our support letter.

In that letter we outline three opportunities for others.
  1. Pray for our trip, the people we will be meeting, and the country
  2. Support us financially
  3. Send a letter and a picture to a child at the orphanage
Please take the time to fill out this short support questionnaire to let us know you want to be involved.
