Thank you for taking the time to check out our blog. We are getting more and more excited for this trip with each passing day!
We have been so overwhelmed with support from our friends and family! So many of you have supported us financially, through prayers, by writing letters to the kids at the orphanage, or just by asking us about the trip and listening to our heart behind it. We are SO grateful and are excited to be able to share about this special place with you.
Many of you have been asking about donations to take to the orphanage. We will have a total of EIGHT bags between the four of us traveling, so there is plenty of room for us to take donations along! If you are interested in donating items, here are some good ideas of things the orphanage always needs - or wants… you know how kids are ;)
School Supplies
- Pens & Pencils
- Small notebooks for writing
- Calculators (for teachers at the school) - (would you be willing to ask your bank to donate some next time you are there?)
- Red pens (for teachers at the school)
- Coloring books and crayons/colored pencils
Hygiene
- Soaps - (would you be willing to swing by a local hotel to see if they will donate?)
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste - (would you be willing to ask your dentist for a few?)
- Washcloths
- Hair combs
- Hair ties, barrettes, clips, and headbands
- Compact mirrors
- Nail clippers and nail file
- Nail polish
- Sturdy flip-flops or sandals
Toys, Games, Misc
- Deflated soccer balls or volleyballs
- Ball pumps (and needles)
- Frisbees
- Nerf footballs
- Stickers
- Bubbles
- Hard candies
- Lollipops
- Needles/thread/sewing kits
